Dr. Huang, Chih-Kun is the president of Taiwan Obesity Support Association (TOSA) and founding Chairman of International Excellence Federation (IEF) for Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery. He is also the Superintendent of Body science and Metabolic disorders International Medical Center of China Medical University Hospital, Taichung, which is one of the premier medical centers in Taiwan. 

Dr. Huang has been devoted to the field of minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery for more than 10 years. As a pioneering surgeon in the field of bariatric and metabolic surgery he is credited to have developed a number of new bariatric surgery procedures. 

In 2008 he performed and also reported the world's first 'Single Incision Trans-Umbilical Laparoscopic Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass'. The following year he introduced another new bariatric procedure known as the "Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banded Plication"(LAGBP). His center was designated as the 1st "International Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery (I.C.E) in Asia-Pacific region" in 2009. His dedication to innovation, excellence and patient centered quality of care in the field of bariatric surgery was duly recognized. Dr Huang was hence awarded the prestigious "Endos Award in Medical Science & Technology" in 2010 and also the "International Award by American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS)" in 2011.

He has to his credit, numerous publications and scientific presentations in national and international scientific journals and meetings. He has taken active initiatives in improving and improvising training practices in bariatric surgery as observed by various aspiring bariatric surgeons from all over the world enrolling in the fellowship program at his centre.
